The Official Nobama Response to President Obama’s Speech before a Joint Session of Congress on September 8, 2011
My Fellow Americans,
I am humbled to deliver the official conservative response to the President’s address before a joint session of Congress on the subject of jobs. To follow the President at this critical juncture is indeed an honor, and I am pleased to deliver the response.
This President has been focussed like a laser on a lot of things. First it was spending us into oblivion as we see our national debt has risen many times over by Barack Obama as he saved us from “depression or worse.” I am not sure what worse would have been, but there is a lot of depression in the country. Perhaps it is not the depression that happened in the 1930′s, but it is the depression many feel when it comes to not being able to find a job.
This President spoke tonight of the need for the Congress to join him in this focus on jobs. He suggests that he has been all about jobs all along. But the truth is the shovel ready jobs we ***thought*** we had funded were not so shovel ready after all. Those are his words.
The President thinks that by giving him and his allies in Congress 300 billion more, they will finally find those shovels. This time they can be trusted to do the right thing. They will create jobs where jobs were not created before.
Perhaps this is because in the prior stimulus the President paid off all of his cronies, his contributors, his union buddies and General Electric. Perhaps he just doesn’t have anyone left to give money too, so – this time – he will find those shovels and fund those shovel ready jobs.
Perhaps he will find some shovel ready jobs that he decides are good enough for Americans to work, and not jobs that only an “undocumented alien” would want.
Perhaps he will find a way to hire Census workers in 2012. Maybe we need to do the Census every two years?
Perhaps he will find a way to build a light rail system from Las Vegas to Chicago. That could be a 300 billion dollar project, and it would likely please his buddies like Jimmy Hoffa, Jr.
But let’s get real here. The President’s only major contribution towards jobs has been the creation of 37 czars, 32 of which have had no confirmation of any kind by the Senate. And let us not forget that each of these Czars has a full staff and offices. Now that’s stimulus.
Let’s get off of this kind of stimulus effort and call the President out for wasting the last trillion or more of stimulus. Between foreign banks and payments to blue states, this President squandered the money on – really – nothing.
If the Congress and the Senate pass such a package, there is little doubt that the money would go to all of the same sources again.
Small companies – without the encumbrance of unions – create most of the new jobs in a vibrant economy. This President needs to learn what it takes to make a stimulus.
Let’s start by stimulating business by taking away the fears all businesses have of the impact of the President’s Health Care Bill. Defund Obamacare, and you will have an immediate stimulus in hiring – and money would be saved by all. Further stimulate the economy by allowing drilling in places Obama has made virtually impossible. Responsible deep sea drilling, ANWR in Alaska, off of Florida and even off of the East coast. Do not place restrictions on hydrofracking, as this latest threat to our domestic energy programs is pure hyperbole and not a real environmental problem at all.
More stimulus. How about learning how a free market works and letting the free market work. It is the intervention in our free market systems in the first place by do gooders pressuring mortgages for those that should be renters that caused this problem in the first place. Yes, Wall Street should not have put trash mortgages together as they did, but – seriously – they did that because they saw the risk far earlier than the rest of us. If those “do-gooders” – - Yes, I am talking to YOU, Barney Frank! – - had not come up with the absurd plan of pressuring lenders into approving mortgages on those that should not be approved, none of that would have happened. None of it.
Let’s stimulate the economy by locking in the so-called “Bush tax cuts” for the next decade, and do in such a way that everyone that creates jobs knows what to expect when ti comes to taxes.
Do all of that I propose in this rebuttal, and save the 300 billion. Maybe apply it to the debt? Maybe apply it to Social Security reform.
Mr. President, I know you will never admit your failings. But Perhaps you might admit this: When you took the Oath of Office as President of the United States, YOU were not shovel ready enough for the job. Perhaps your idea of change is even clear in your eyes and maybe you should not run again? We should be so lucky.
Thank you all for listening!
