MSM Brings Up Romney’s Mormon Religion and Word ‘Cult’ in Effort to Smear Romney and Other GOP Leaders
Sometimes it is not as obvious, but this time it is very obvious.  The mainstream media is making sure that everyone knows that Romney is Mormon.
They also are attempting to smear the Mormon religion by pushing a ‘cult’ angle on it. They are taking the comments of a pastor loosely connected with Rick Perry to run it against the entire field. They know that Cain, Bachmann, Newt and Perry hold no such feelings.  It is a great way to smear Romney by making the word ‘cult’ synonymous with ‘Mormon.’  They know that if Romney is our eventual GOP candidate, they will run with the word ‘cult’ (including playing the famous Southpark Mormon episode over and over).  They know if Perry gets the nomination, they can associate him with a pastor who considers Mormons to be cult members.  They know they can suggest – as in the headline above – that Bachmann and Cain are “ducking” the “religion question.”  What question?
This is all about destroying the entire field. Â Are they succeeding? Not yet, but they are trying.
