The NOBAMA Top Three Picks for the GOP Nomination – and NOBAMA’s Choices for Veep

The NOBAMA.com Selections for the GOP 2012 Nomination
Seriously – I know many are thinking it is too early to make picks, but I believe that if anyone believes that they are wrong.  I am going to make my picks as I am comfortably firm on the choices.  In recent weeks I went from thinking Perry had a great chance while Cain had no chance, to reversing on those two candidates. My top pick had always been firm, although seemingly out of reach of the nomination. Now, there is some hope.  Let’s see how it goes.
While I have a lot of ideas who I wanted, I now come down this way. Â This is NOT a prediction of the final outcome. Â These are my choices.Â
Â
The Winner is….
The NOBAMA.com Number One Pick: Â Newt Gingrich
I really have my picks, and I am moving into first place one of my all time favorites for President, Newt Gingrich. Â He was always who I would hope would surge in the polls and become the obvious choice. Â I got to say, I really like Newt and I trust Newt. Â He has take a lot of heat for how he treated his cancer stricken wife in the 1990′s, and a lot of that has been proven to be wrong. Â We all know that many marriages break-up, and we have to cut him some slack on that.
Let’s forget about those issues that haunted him in the 1990′s. Â Let’s remember this man is our strongest debater. He has not attempted to destroy or otherwise “take out” by destructive means any of the other Republican candidates.

He suggests the Lincoln-Douglas Debate format for himself and our current President, and I would love to see it happen. Even if only once. Truth is, nobody can really out debate newt. Newt would reveal the real Obama for all that he is.
(Consider this one rescinded as of slightly before his withdrawal)
The NOBAMA.com Number Two Pick: Â Herman Cain
I am totally comfortable with trusting Herman Cain with the nomination. If he wins, I think he could out-debate Obama about as good as Gingrich, possibly better. Looking at how he stook up to Bill Clinton in that “town hall video” when the subject of Hillary-care came up is priceless.
The claims by the three women are nothing to me other than a hatchet job.  I cannot take them seriously. The one settled for so little, and in the world today that is what happens.  Are the claims real? Well, she really made claims, but that does not mean they were necessarily substantial or rose to anything that means anything.  I am so beyond this, I really could care less. Bill Clinton: He had women who felt totally used and pushed to the side. They alleged sex  over and over.  Give me a break on these allegations.  I simply do not care.  Sorry, alleged victims. You filed no police reports, so let it die.
I like the 9-9-9 as a general idea. I do not like a national sales tax. Â Not one bit.
The NOBAMA.com Number Three Pick: Â Mitt Romney
I am not happy with this one. Â While I think he is far better as a candidate than last time around, I still feel he is a flip-flopper. Â I feel that way because he is. Â He is someone that knows what positions he must currently have to get elected. Â He has stood by his Romneycare, and I simply am torn by that. Â Still – if the others do not make it, he becomes my candidate.
Do I think he will repeal Obamacare?  Maybe.  I don’t know if he can rally the country to get him more Republicans in office to help throw out Obamacare. I think I am fine with  him on most other issues.  I know those who are very pro-life are very worried about Romney, and I think they have reason for concern.  I am not going to let one issue decide my vote.  That said, I think he is solid enough in his pro-life agenda to hold firm.
Is he perfect? No. Will I vote for him if he is the final nominee? Â Yes.

Third Party Choice – If I hated the nominee: Â Donald Trump (Don’t take this too seriously – READ BELOW)
What if our wildcard friend Donald Trump got in to compete with Mitt Romney? Â Let’s discuss “The Donald” possibilities.
Let’s plan a Donald Trump scenario:
- A Republican Nominee is chosen.
- Something comes up that makes it obvious that the candidate can no longer beat Obama.
- Or – somehow Ron Paul gets the nomination (not a Republican no matter what he says!).
Then I would consider a Donald Trump. Â I know that Trump would likely not get in unless he really felt he could win. I do not see him playing around next time. Â If the scenario presents itself in the form a candidate that cannot beat Obama, I could see Trump come in. Â As strange as the idea sounds, he probably could defeat Obama if it went down right.
The NOBAMA.com Choices for Vice President:

One Choice Only – Marco Rubio
We have to move forward a great Vice President choice.  Like Reagan chose Bush 41, the next Republican nominee needs to choose someone like Marco Rubio.

Exception – Newt Gingrich if Cain Gets Nomination
Exception: Â Let’s say Herman Cain gets the nomination. Â He needs the experience of a Newt Gingrich beside him.
Not mentioned for President in the current list of candidates:
- Rick Perry. Come on, he has nothing to offer.
- Michele Bachmann – She is not out for later years. Â She could be a VEEP choice, too. Â I would hold off on her for four more years.
- Ron Paul – no way, no how. Â If the 9/11 Truthers were to put up a candidate, the would likely be their man.
- Jon Huntsman – No to him; perhaps his daughters get a reality show based on their latest video?
- Rick Santorum – Irritating. Unimaginative. Cannot win. Get out.
- Gary Johnson – Nobody knows him. Â Get out.
Let’s hear your thoughts and predictions in the comments.
