Third Party Run of a GOP Insider?
There are some idiots in the GOP establishment and the extreme wing of the elites that are the so-called “real conservatives” that want a third party “Republican” candidate to run, like Rick Perry of Texas.
Their reasoning is that such a run would make sure that GOP voters who the elites think would otherwise not go to the polls would then go to the polls and have a POTUS candidate they can vote for – although that POTUS candidate is not the GOP’s official candidate. They suggest this would help in other GOP races.
The idea is to either give the POTUS to Hillary Clinton or throw the POTUS election into the House of Representatives where each STATE will have ONE VOTE. They believe that will allow them to make sure Donald Trump does not become President.
Did you catch that? They would rather see Hillary Clinton win and become President of the United States than to have Donald Trump be President of the United States. The best way to make that happen is to run a “strong” third party candidate.
Here are the REAL REASONS AS TO WHY they would do this:
The moment Donald Trump becomes the GOP nominee he is the de facto head of the Republican Party. That cuts off the consultants and insiders that would otherwise control everything from getting hired. People like Erick Erickson and Rick Wilson don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of working for the GOP once Trump is nominated.
Worse for those insiders, once Trump becomes President he controls almost the entire party apparatus for years. He can say who is on the in and who is on the out. He can influence even the money the GOP puts in the hands of the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader – if he chooses to be that involved. This is the money that goes to reelecting the people Speaker and the Leader like, while drying up funding on the House members and Senators they do not like.
The consultant class that have attacked Trump for these many months will find their K Street firms out of business in some cases as they will be persona non grata throughout the GOP party apparatus.
Losing the POTUS actually gives the consultant class the most power. That might seem counterintuitive, but its not. The Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader would have total control of their budgets just as they have had for nearly eight years.
Who’s Stupid Enough to Run as the GOPe Candidate?
That’s why these idiots might just do something that stupid. I can assure you that the mentally challenged Governor of Texas, Rick Perry, will go for it. He hates Trump so much he cannot think. He’s a very stupid man that believes everything the handlers have been telling him all along. “You’re the greatest, Mister Governor.” He’s the greatest fool of all. Trump will eat him alive – again – should he try this.
